From October 10 to 13, 2024, the prestigious Buick LPGA Shanghai will make a grand return to the Shanghai Qizhong Garden Golf Club, serving as the opening event of the LPGA Asia Fall Swing. Following the Paris Olympics, the global spotlight will once again turn to Shanghai, where the world’s top female golfers will compete fiercely for championship glory.

The Buick LPGA Shanghai is jointly sanctioned by the LPGA Tour and the China LPGA Tour (CLPGA), featuring a star-studded lineup of competitors. Among the 60 female golfers who competed in the Paris Olympics, 34 have previously participated in the Buick LPGA Shanghai, accounting for more than half of the field. This includes Olympic gold medalist Lydia Ko, who has competed in all previous editions of the Buick LPGA Shanghai, silver medalist Esther Henseleit, who finished third in the 2023 Buick LPGA Shanghai, and Olympic bronze medalist and Buick Golf Ambassador Lin Xiyu, who has competed on her home turf at the Buick LPGA Shanghai for several consecutive years.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, golf returned to the Olympic stage after a 112-year hiatus. Chinese golf legend and two-time Buick Championship winner Feng Shanshan made history by securing a bronze medal, marking a breakthrough for Chinese athletes in the sport. In the recently concluded 2024 Paris Olympics, Buick Golf Ambassador Lin Xiyu, representing China for the third time, delivered an outstanding performance to claim another bronze medal, once again bringing glory to Chinese golf. Rising star Yin Ruoning, who made her Olympic debut, also achieved an impressive top-ten finish. From being the best amateur player at the Buick LPGA Shanghai to becoming a major champion, this Shanghai-born talent from the 2000s generation has quickly ascended to the ranks of the world's elite golfers.
